Although we didn't start with the D&D stable alliterative 'in an Inn', a serious metaphysical discussion in the pub gave rise to an observation; that quality control at the magic item sweatshops is superb - there never seem to be any duds of anything on the market. Very interesting ideas, and most of it looks like it was very thoughtfully balanced. This is the player’s bible, and whether you’re DMing or playing, you won’t be going anywhere without this bad boy. 1.
Spells - Slots and Mystic Arcanum [/h] Cantrips: Blade Ward - Not bad if you’ve the time to set up a one turn buff. Banish stress, ease tension, and add comfort, joy, and magic to your daily life with The Witches'Spell Book. I’m not sure why these are here, as both 5e and PF have a separate book including new rules. Certainly doesn’t hurt. This was all done within 5e without any real tweaks needed at all, so yeah it is easy enough to run low-magic 5e. Magical healing was obviously rare and the ability to make magic artifacts was completely lost, the only artifacts left were weapons and armour of incredibly age and power. Chill Touch - Normally a good spell, its outshined by Eldritch Blast in all cases save one where the enemy heals or regenerates a lot. Magic in 5e D&D is too Easy ... (it's been a few years since I've read the book so forgive me if I explain this poorly). In the case of 5e, some of the options from Deep Magic are split between these two books. Re: 5e-- Low Magic Overhaul (Two new classes and one new subclasses included!) In fact I'd say it works better than high-magic 5e.
